Mr Alex Wong Heqin at the age of 21, founded Stag Match as a sole-proprietor tuition agency/centre with a registered Hougang premise. He had started with minimum capital without any financial aid, funding and parents’ comparison to other well-known tuition centre post a constant challenge for the newly embarked Stag Match. In the beginning stage, inexperience Mr Alex had to manage the entire centre set-up and other duties like brochures layout designing, tuition centre marketing and tutors recruitment.
Since Stag Match inaugurated in 2001, Mr Alex believes that every child is a winner; failure this word does not exist in his dictionary. Stag Match endeavors their best to cultivate the right learning altitude and to bring out the hidden talents inside children, by finding out the motivation behind them. In every semester, Mr Alex will organize excursion as incentive for students who had made the greatest improvement in grade to be selected for the field trip. Stag Match also strive to bring the best tutors and materials to them, strongly believe that if the child does not succeed, Stag match do not succeed either.
Mr Alex tells himself that every child entrusted to his centres is a show of faith from the parents for his capabilities; he gave his all to every given opportunity, winning the hearts and trust. It was this trusts that motivated Mr Alex, and built the foundation to success.
Stag Match growing services and modules are in-lined with Singapore’s education system, which focuses on students’ creative thinking and analytical skills. They are also constantly in-touch with the changing educational system with the aim of helping students gain a competitive edge in the knowledge based economy.
To achieve the goals, tutors and teachers at Stag Match are required to attend mandatory courses, undergo intensive in-house trainings to ensure their teachers passed through a series of regular and stringent evaluation procedures achieving the highest teaching standard. This painstaking evaluation process was to ensure all enrichment courses and lessons are conducted professionally with the highest degree of integrity.
After a challenging year the business growth has given Stag match the opportunity to expand. Stag Match was incorporated as private limited, namely Stag Match Private Limited few years later. From a humble small-scale operation mainly focus on tuition and student care services; it had evolved into a fully integrated tuition centres with a total eighty workforces and sixteen centres located island wide.

Mr Alex stresses the importance for achieving success which lies in the boldness of an individual’s character and all dreams can come true if we have the courage to purse them.
In year 2009, Stag Match and a few companies co-joint to render assistance to low-income less fortunate family by fully subsidise the tuition fee allowing those needy students to be able to receive tuition at Stag Match selected Bedok , Tampines and Woodlands branches tuition centres. Regardless of Mr Alex present achievements, he looks forward to set-up other four tuition centres by the year 2013 and other areas of expansion like setting-up childcare, elderly care and care centre for the disable and the needy families.

As an astute entrepreneur who values teamwork, Mr Alex attributes continuous growth of his tuition centres to his experienced 80 staffs and their knowledge of expertise, dedication and hard work as each of them plays a vital role in assisting him to achieve his goal. His greatest gratitude goes out to his family especially his parent for being the greatest motivation, friends, and students’ parents for their endless support. Lastly, one of Mr Alex secondary school teacher who had inspired him to become a successful educator.
